Valentine's Day Hunt

Sweet treats -- Shauna and MacLean once showed Julia and me how to make homemade chocolates -- while doing a winter kitchen cupboard purge, I found the the trays and the chocolate disks.  What a hit they were to make and to eat. You can't have Valentine's day without chocolates. (note to self -- chocolate chips don't work as well as the chocolate disks -- we ran out of those and tried to substitute)

We introduced another V-Day tradition this year -- a treasure hunt. We had seen the idea on the Valentine's episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8, and Julia loved it. I've always been a big fan of b-day treasure hunts, so I thought we'd try this one.

So that's how we started our day. I wrote 20 clues that would take Julia up and down, all around Nana and Papa's house. It was funny to see her so excited about finding the treasure - even if it was only a new toothbrush or some show gel. But I did find some cool V-Day treats -- these are some valentine's crackers. Very cool.



The big treat was the "Love Bug" by the Jonas brothers. And here's her little love bug - a lady bug of course.

There were all sorts of funny spots to look. Julia did well with the clues.
