Halloween decor

Only at this time of year is it fun to play with spider webs.
Webs of this size would illicit great shrieks of horror.
Hmmmmm....
The design team.
The finished product, bathed in late afternoon sun --
a real sign of autumn.
Applying the spooky jelly art.

Discussing the pumpkin selection.

Thanks to all!

It was a feast to be sure -- lots of good eats -- some new recipes -- and some tried and true favourites. No one went away hungry that day.

Highjinxs at the kids' table
Can you see the family resemblance??
Left to right- Katie, Papa and Maggie.
My dad looks like one of those aliens from
Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
The morphed pictures caused many a laugh.
Love that tomfoolery! Even Papa got into the act.
We were especially thankful that Mom was able to make the trip to Carmel's house.
There is now proper front porch at Carmel's house,
but a recent build of some steps and a landing in the garage
made it for Mom to visit.
It was a blessing to have her with us all.

Apple of my eye!

We had a sunny day to do some apple picking Thanksgiving weekend -- we drove all the way to Chatham if you can believe it. But worth the drive for those crunchy apples at a great price.

Julia devoured several as we made our way down Mackintosh lane.
Going after the prize.

The pefect one Julia said. Small but tasty.
