Fashion show!

One of the Catholic Education Week activities at my school was a student fashion show. Julia was invited to participate in the scene featuring the kids of staff members. This was a dream come true for my girlie girl who loves fashion and performing. Julia picked her own outfit from several options from Old Navy. .

Hanging out in Style -- Julia and Ottilia - pretty girls in blue. It was just a fluke that they matched so well -- All the girls clothes came from Old Navy -- Julia had even tried on that dress that Ottilia is wearing.

All ready to go -- Alyse even matches! She was so good about understanding why the other girls were in the show and she wasn't. I don't know if I would have been as gracious at 7 years of age.

This was pre - show -- Julia getting her hair done by a professional.

Practicing the look and the stance!

The blur of the catwalk...

Julia about to launch into her new signature turn.Julia is watching Camila do her solo walk.Taking a break from all the walking

The big event -- they've got the look, and the walk!

Happy Birthday to me - Chicago style!

A great way to spend my birthday -- seeing a Broadway show Chicago style. It was "one -- singular sensation..."
The lights of the theatre district -- not quite Times Square --
We had dinner in our room -- my first taste of room service -- best tomato soup I've ever had with the mother of all grilled cheese sandwiches. Missed the shot when the meals arrived under silver lids. So stylin'.
Thinking green -- fashion forward - has been the theme of the trip -- all of us now have new green purses, except Lianne -- but still more shopping to do.
A stroll through Millenium Park -- a great spring day -- things are really blooming in Chicago. Note the jaunty green purse I'm sporting!

The painting behind us is called "Saturday Night" -- depicts good friends out and about spending their OWN money - much like like ourselves.  A great painting to pay tribute to our friendship and this wonderful trip.
A famous Chicago landmark -- the bean...Shauna and Janet reflect - literally!
A miracle -- Lianne can walk on water!
My new prized possession -- my welcome-spring purse! Taken in the bathroom stall -- that's how much I LOVE it -- it goes with everything and goes everywhere :)
This painting reminded me of Julia --- tender moments!
Can't believe I've now seen this American icon.
Art appreciation abounds with these ladies.
We loved the audio tour.
Here we are in the lobby of The Drake -- where Oprah's guests often stay -- perhaps this is what jinxed us not getting on the show.
